unbelievable overflow

We all desire more blessings...we all have a secret prayer that we always ask for, something else that we always dream of, and other things that we simply want. We just want our blessing into a reality. I was inspired by an uncomfortable reality that is happening right at this very moment...the Lord pressed upon me this image as I was watching CNN and later NBC, with the story of the Morganza Spillway!

It is interesting how the word "floodgates" are used in the Bible.
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it


Sometimes we tend to hold back our finances thinking that we won't have enough or other interesting excuses. Rather, God has another perspective on this matter, He states that the floodgates of heaven would open as you give you shall receive.


We all want blessings. I believe these blessings are attainable if we are obedient to God in every area of our lives. His desire is, as the God of hope to "fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
 
What would that feel like ? To overflow with hope like when the floodgates open wide and all that tremendous power of heavenly water rushes to overwhelm your life! The floodgates of heaven opened to shower the earth with rain (Gen 7:11) during the time of Noah, likewise the floodgates closed shut to sustain the waters (Gen 8) on God's command, the floodgates open and shut.

Follow me on this one...the Lord has a promise of blessing for your life; it is in His power to open or close the floodgates, yet there is a key that can trigger His Mighty Hand to move. Obedience- full obedience to His Word.
Examine your own heart and weed out the things that are holding back the blessings! If you do so transparently you shall see the flood waters wash over you intensely and refresh your soul.
